Bathroom Closet Revamp

Maximizing existing space

Even quick, simple projects can have a big impact on the functionality of a space. This bathroom closet had become a messy, disorganized catch-all. We relocated the guest bedding (to the guest room) to make space for towel storage. Shelves were given a purpose: toilet paper/paper towel backstock, sunscreen/lotions/etc, bath towels/wash clothes, and bins of makeup/travel toiletries. We were even able to completely remove the nightstand from the space because the drawers were no longer needed for extra storage.

Reclaiming this bedroom was incredibly rewarding. This space could only be described as chaotic. I helped my client sort and purge a lot of clothing that he no longer wore. Then, I put together a bed frame (that he already had) to get the bed off the floor. I also recommended more functional nightstands (drawers providing storage that the end tables he was using did not have). All of the clothing now neatly fits into the closets.

Getting results without purchasing new supplies

A simple reach-in closet can be given new life through organization. Nothing additional was purchased for this project - it exclusively used existing storage solutions and cardboard boxes from packages. A few items were relocated elsewhere in the home, but almost everything is still here in the closet. It is simply organized in a way that created a cleaner look and a more functional space.

Finding space in a small room

Sometimes you just need a fresh set of eyes to completely revamp a room. The original layout of this single dorm room left a lot to be desired (no seating space, no room to sit up in the lofted bed, etc), The furniture could not be removed from the room, so we worked with it. Bringing the bed down lets it serve two functions - comfortable sleeping and seating space. Moving the bed also opened up the window to allow more natural light into the room. Dressers were positioned beneath the bed to maximize storage potential.

Installing new storage solutions

Sometimes you can't tidy up because your existing space just doesn't have enough storage. In this laundry room, we installed new Rubbermaid Fasttrack shelving to take advantage of the vertical space.

Now, the every day laundry and cleaning supplies are more accessible. The additional storage got items off of the dryer and the floor.
